Like to Love: What is it to Really Like Someone
Posted by Matt on March 22nd, 2009 filed in UncategorizedAfter learning about lust and it’s ability to take over people, Dad moved to his next life lesson on liking someone. “Son, I do not believe that you lust after her because you really seem heart-broken. It sounds like you may really like this girl. Let’s talk about what it means to really like somebody.”
Dad continued, “Matt, now I am not a relationship expert …but I do know a thing or two about this. When I met your mom, I went nuts. She was so beautiful and sweet.” At this point, I remember seeing my Dad’s eyes glisten over and his face really light up. He was smiling so BIG :-).

“Here are just a few things that happen when you start to really be drawn to someone special…”
1. You think of excuse just to talk to her.
2. She is all you think about.
3. You get lost just from their scent.
4. You realize you’re always smiling to yourself when you think about her.
5. You would do anything for her or anything to see her.
6. You look at their picture constantly.
7. When you’re on the phone with them and they hang up, you still miss them even when it was just two minutes ago.
8. You read her notes and letters over and over again.
9. You walk really slow when you’re with her.
10. You feel shy whenever she is around.
11. When you think about her, your heart beats faster and slower at the same time.
12. You smile when you hear her voice.
13. When you look at her, you can’t see the other people around you; all you see is her.
14.You start thinking about her when listening to slow love songs.
15. While I am saying this, there was one person on your mind the whole time..
” Do you see the difference between lusting after someone and truly liking them?” Dad asked. “Oh yeah, Daddy. This sounds a lot more like how I feel.” Dad gave me a comforting smile and put his arm around my shoulders. My mom popped her head in and asked if I was okay. I smiled and said I was okay. But after she shut the door, I remembered seeing this girl holding this jerk’s hand.
Confusingly I said, “Dad, I do like her. Why did she do this? I am so mad at her. I just do not understand.” “Now that you know about lusting and liking, Son, lets talk about the most powerful force in the world… Love.” to be continued…
