Kissing Your Wife is a Top Priority

Kiss your Wife!!!
One of the greatest memories I have of my childhood is Dad coming home every day from a hard days work at TDW. He would walk in the door, my sister and I would run to see him. He would graciously smile at us and hold up his finger to signal “just wait one minute”. He would make his way into the kitchen where Mom was faithfully cooking dinner for all of us (she always had it ready within 5 minutes of him getting home). My dad would grab that woman, lean her back, and lay a huge smacker on her. Then he would turn to us and grab us up in his big arms and lay one on us too.
He would make sure that everyone knew she was his top priority. I remember asking Dad why he did that. He said that she was the love of his life…period. No job, no goal, nothing was above her…except God. He said “Now, Son, you and Charity (my sister) are very very important to me. But before there was you…she was my wife. Your mom will always know that she is the top of my priority list.”
Being a husband and father now myself, I now understand how profound this was. With every day that my father would openly display his love for my mom, I never had to worry if they were going to divorce or anything like that. It become a part of life that almost none of my friends had happen in their house. I was so blessed.
So husbands, let us learn from the best and make sure to grab that woman of yours the minute you go home and sweep her off her feet. Even if she acts like she doesn’t like it…I guarantee you that she does. My wife was blown away at me doing this. My babies smile and laugh every time it happens. This truly builds love in the home.

Thanks Matt for the great post!!! I hope that someday I could live similar to the example above. I can’t wait to read more from your blog.

Amen brother!! I’ve been married twenty-seven years. They were times in our lives when everyone turned their backs, we has no one else but we had each other. That created a bond that transcends every good time and every bad time. She’s my partner, my best friend, my lover, and my counselor. I’ll be kissing that woman until the lights go off for the last time. Thanks for reminding us!

You’ve probably already heard this, but my dad did the exact same thing- but he would kiss her twice. My Grampa did it too. I will never forget that, and one day when I’m married, I plan on being on the receiving end, instead of the viewing end, of those daily smooches! I like all of what I’ve read so far- keep it up!
