Like to Love Part II: I Lust You
Posted by Matt on March 14th, 2009 filed in UncategorizedGrowing up in the pews of old pentecostal churches, I had heard the word LUST a lot from the preachers but never really understood it. Well to continue the story of the previous post, my father knew I was completely confused when he asked me if I really loved the girl or if I simply liked or even just lusted after her. I asked my dad to explain what lust was. He started off by giving me the technical definition as “intense or unbridled sexual desire for another”.

“Son, there are people that become obsessed to have sex with someone to the point of driving them almost crazy”. They do not care about the little things of that person like if they like chocolate, enjoy walks along the beach, or if they are allergic to anything. You just think about doing “that” with them. You act more aggressive than normal. You try to just become whatever you think would turn that other person on. It does not matter if it is really you or not. That is lust.
Dad explained to me that Lust drives millions of men to pick up dirty magazines like Playboy, Maxim, Hustler, and yes the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Every guy that looks at these magazines do not love these girls… do not even like them. They simply want to “get off”. Nasty. That, friends, is all out lust. Gentlemen Clubs (my opinion- no real gentlemen would ever step their foot in) and strip clubs are simply build to fulfill men’s lusts. He explained that many get so tied into lust, that the weekly sales ads in the paper like bra ads will suffice.

“Son, if you simply look at this girl as a means of fulfilling your nasty lust, then you do not love her at all…in fact, you really do not even like her.” Because if you truly liked or loved her, it would be more about her…less about you. Now do not get me wrong, I know that you first have to have an attraction to someone. There is nothing wrong with that. But to put in blunt, if you simply think about getting between her legs, or any other way of violating her then you are just full of lust. “Son, that is what drives men to become monsters and rape women…even raping children. Because it just come down to them getting off.”
I remember my eyes getting big and telling Daddy that I did not think of her that way. I dreamed about holding her hand, having my arm around her while watching a movie at the theatre, and of course kissing her. I told him all the little things that I liked about her…her eyes, her smile, the way her hair flipped in the wind.
He just smiled really big and said, ” Well, then perhaps you really like this girl. Let’s talk about that for a minute.” TO BE CONTINUED …..
